Privacy Policy

This privacy policy aims to inform users of the Astral Secrets mobile application about how their data is processed. We attach great importance to protecting your privacy and are committed to handling your data responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with applicable regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (nLPD).

1. Data Collected

The Astral Secrets application does not collect any personal data that allows direct identification (name, surname, address, etc.). The following data may be stored locally on your device:

  • Date of birth (to display your zodiac sign)
  • Display preferences (music and sound activation/deactivation)
  • Preferred language This data is never transmitted to our servers or to third parties and can be deleted by uninstalling the application.

However, non-personal technical information may be transmitted to third-party services integrated into the application, notably:

  • when voluntarily reporting content in the clairvoyance section (see § 2.3)
  • in the event of a crash or error via Firebase Crashlytics (see § 2.4) This information is used only for moderation or to fix technical issues, does not allow direct identification, and is retained only for as long as necessary to process it.

2. Third-Party Services Used

The application uses certain third-party services to ensure its operation, monetization, and improvement of the user experience. These services may, under certain conditions, process technical data and involve data transfers to countries outside Switzerland and the European Union. In such cases, these transfers are governed by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or other appropriate safeguards.

Below is the list of third-party services integrated into the application:

2.1 Google AdMob

We use AdMob to display advertisements. On the first launch, the user can choose:

  • to accept personalized advertising, which involves the collection and use of behavioral data for targeting purposes, or

  • to receive only non-personalized ads, which do not use this data. In both cases, Google may collect technical information (such as the anonymous advertising ID, device type, and performance logs) for ad delivery, effectiveness measurement, and fraud prevention. Legal basis: processing is based on your consent, pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, when you accept personalized ads.

2.2 RevenueCat

RevenueCat is used to manage in-app purchases (one-time premium access). The application does not store your payment information. Transactions are processed through Google Play or the App Store, depending on your device. RevenueCat allows verification of your purchase status using an anonymous technical identifier, without collecting personal data. Legal basis: processing is based on contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) to provide the purchased premium service.

2.3 OpenAI

The application offers an interactive “clairvoyance” feature powered by OpenAI’s artificial intelligence (ChatGPT). The content you enter is processed automatically to generate a response. No personal data is required to use this feature. Users are advised not to enter sensitive or personally identifiable information.

Reporting inappropriate responses: When a user submits a question to the clairvoyant, it is processed temporarily and not stored, except in cases where a response is reported as inappropriate. In such cases only, the submitted question, the clairvoyant’s response, and the reason for the report may be stored for internal moderation purposes. This data is not associated with any personal identifier, is not tracked, and is deleted after a maximum of 90 days in accordance with our internal policy. We strongly advise users not to include any personal or sensitive information when submitting questions to the clairvoyant.

2.4 Firebase App Check

The application uses Firebase App Check (a Google service) to protect access to its database and other resources from abuse and fraudulent use. Each connection verifies that the application is legitimate and running on an uncompromised device by transmitting a verification token and certain technical information (e.g., device model, IP address, OS version). This data is used exclusively for security verification and does not allow direct identification. Legal basis: this processing is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) to ensure the security and integrity of the application.

2.5 Firebase Crashlytics

The application uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically detect and fix technical issues. In the event of a crash, a technical report is automatically sent to Firebase’s secure servers (a Google service) to identify and fix the problem. These reports contain only anonymous technical data (device version, operating system, error logs) and do not allow personal identification. This data is retained by Google for a maximum of 90 days and then automatically deleted from online and backup systems. Legal basis: this processing is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) to ensure proper operation and security of the application.

2.6 Firebase Analytics (not currently included in the app)

The application uses Firebase Analytics to measure app usage and performance and to improve the user experience. Depending on your consent settings, Google may collect technical information (device type, system version, app interactions, anonymous advertising ID). This data is processed in an aggregated form and does not allow direct identification. Legal basis: processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) when you provide it via the consent window in the app.

3. No User Account Creation

Astral Secrets does not offer account creation or login features. No personal data (name, surname, email, etc.) is requested or stored.

4. User Rights

In accordance with the GDPR and nLPD, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access your data (if any exists)
  • Right to rectification or deletion
  • Right to object to data processing

Since Astral Secrets does not directly collect personal data, the exercise of these rights primarily applies to data potentially processed by third-party providers listed above. To exercise your rights regarding this data, you may contact these providers directly through the links to their privacy policies or contact us for assistance.

5. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated to reflect technical, legal, or functional changes to the application. In the event of significant modifications, they will be indicated in the app store update description. We also encourage you to check this page regularly to stay informed of any changes.
